Farm Fresh RI is planning to build a $15.5 million food hub in the state that will distribute locally grown produce and house production facilities to the public. According to the Fresno Bee, the company will offer nutrition education programs and markets for consumers as well.

The food hub will occupy a 61,500-square-foot building on a vacant lot in Providence and is seeking incentives under the REbuild Rhode Island tax credit program for the project.

It is believed that the project will create  284 jobs during construction and 117 permanent jobs at the facility.
