95,000 Pounds of Johnsonville Smoked Sausage Recalled

Consumers have complained of finding hard, green plastic in some of the sausages.

Over 95,000 pounds of Johnsonville's smoke sausage has been recalled internationally after consumers have complained of finding hard, green plastic in some of the product.

The jalapeno cheddar smoked sausage, all produced and packaged on March 12, are subject to the recall. The packages have a best-by date of June 9 printed on the back and will have the establishment number EST. 34224 printed inside the USDA mark of inspection on their labels. 

USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service is urging consumers to check their refrigerators or freezers for the product. 

“Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.”
