Organic Foods Maker Opens New LEED Facility

Turtle Island Foods set to show off its $10 million, 33,000-square foot LEED processing plant

Staying true to the company goal of having a minimal impact on the environment, Turtle Island Foods of Hood River, Ore., is set to open it's new processing plant this week. Some of the sustainable features of the new plant include over 400 solar panels, a 1,400-square foot eco-roof and a solar-powered electric car charging station. The plant was built using 80 percent locally-sourced materials as well. To read more, click HERE.
