Food Safety Advocates Oppose Smithfield-Shuanghui Merger

Food Safety Advocates are unhappy with the $4.7 billion dollar merger of Smithfield Foods, the biggest pork producer in the U.S., and Shuanghui International. This would be the largest Chinese takeover of an American company in history.  Shuanghui International was involved in a food safety scandal in China after they admitted to adding a banned additive to pig feed.
