Indonesia's own "self-suffcient" policy as well as restrictions on imports has caused beef prices to skyrocket, so the government has announced a plan to buy up to 100 million hectares in Australia to address their country's self-inflicted beef shortage.
In the announcement by Indonesian State Enterprises Minister Dahlan Iskan they reason that buying land and raising their own beef cattle would be easier to sustain than relying on imports to feed the market. To read more, click HERE.
