Dot Foods will be giving $500 bonuses to its full time employees due to the federal tax overhaul. The bonuses will be given to current Dot and Dot Transportation employees that worked for the company at the end of 2017. The bonuses are expected to be given in mid-march, on top of the bonuses that are already structured for its employees.
“We’re really happy to be able to give this bonus to our employees,” company chief executive officer Joe Tracy said in a statement. “Our people are Dot’s greatest asset, and the tax reform bill offered a great opportunity to reinvest in our employees.”
The tax cut and jobs act lowered the corporate tax rate from 35 to 21 percent. Many companies, like Dot, are benefiting from the tax cut and putting the money back into the employees.
