Walmart Recalls 6,000 Pounds of Frozen Meat for Possible Salmonella Contamination

The products were meant to be disposed of after a small group tested positive for salmonella, but were accidentally shipped nationwide.

Walmart is recalling more than 6,400 pounds of its brand's frozen meat due to possible salmonella contamination. 

The company that produces the frozen, fully cooked meat, George's Prepared Food, reported that the products were meant to be disposed of after a small group tested positive for salmonella, but were accidentally shipped nationwide.

There has to be any illnesses reported, but the company and the USDA are urging customers to throw away or return any products that may be contaminated. 

What is Salmonella?

Symptoms of salmonella present anywhere from 12 to 72 hours after eating a contaminated product. The most common symptoms include diarrhea, fever and cramps, which typically last up to a week.
