Farmed Salmon Initiative to Have Major Impact

Fifteen of the world's "major" farmed salmon producers recently formed a joint-initiative called the Global Salmon initiniative, or GSI, that hopes to bring sustainability to the farmed salmon industry. The initiative will focus on three main areas: biosecurity, feed sourcing and meeting industry standards, in order to speed the development of sustainable fishing and aquaculture techniques.
