FourKites announced significant enhancements to Inventory Twin, the inventory intelligence layer within the FourKites Intelligent Control Tower. The new capabilities close the disconnect between supply chain planning and execution, one of the most persistent gaps in enterprise supply chains.
"The supply chain industry has spent decades building planning tools and execution tools separately, then wondering why they do not talk to each other," says Matt Elenjickal, CEO and founder of FourKites. "S&OP was designed for a world of monthly planning cycles. Supply chains move in real time. Inventory Twin brings execution reality into the planning process, so when a disruption happens, the planner sees the impact, gets a recommended fix, and executes it immediately. That is what S&OP should have always been."
Key takeaways:
· Inventory Twin monitors on-hand stock, inbound supply, in-transit shipment positions, and outbound demand across every facility in the network. When projected inventory drops below safety stock, the system flags the risk up to 14 days in advance and quantifies the exposure, including which products, which facilities, which customer orders, and how much revenue is at stake. An Inventory Risk Dashboard provides a live heat map by product category alongside KPIs, including case fill rate, projected days of supply, orders at risk, stock-out value, and inventory turns.
· When a risk is detected, the system now evaluates stock positions, surplus at nearby facilities, demand forecasts, and inbound supply across a six-month horizon to generate a recommended response ranked by cost, speed, and network-wide impact. The AI optimizes for the entire network, not just the facility with the problem.
· Planners can compare inventory positions across up to five distribution centers simultaneously, sorted by proximity to the at-risk location, with interactive projections of Available Stock versus Surplus across daily, weekly, and monthly horizons. Transfer decisions are based on where stock will be, not just where it is today.
· When a planner accepts a stock transfer recommendation, it flows directly into FourKites Booking Connect, where the AI selects the optimal carrier, books the freight, and initiates tracking. The recommendation becomes an executed shipment, rather than data in a spreadsheet or an email to the logistics team. The entire cycle runs inside one platform, with order Twin providing the demand signal, Shipment Twin providing in-transit positions, Booking Connect handling freight execution, and Inventory Twin closing the loop with updated projections.
