Gold Star Foods opened two new distribution centers in Colorado and Oregon to serve a total of 375 school districts, providing healthy, fresh meals to 2 million students throughout Colorado and Oregon each week.

The opening of Gold Star’s Colorado and Oregon distribution centers comes as school districts and government partners begin to construct plans for school reopening in the fall. This year, school nutrition programs will play an even more essential role in communities as unemployment numbers across the country continue to rise and more children will rely on school meals as an important source of their daily nutrition.

“Gold Star Foods is thrilled to expand our services to both Colorado and Oregon and partner with the states’ school nutrition professionals and coordinators to ensure students have access to high quality meals that support their growth, education and success in the classroom,” said Gold Star Foods CEO, Sean Leer. “At Gold Star, we are committed to delivering healthy, fresh and safe food to millions of children, especially during this unprecedented time, and we’ll continue to make this our top priority in Colorado and Oregon.”
