UK-based Asda announced this week that they will be expending their new "click & collect" grocery services to six more locations along the London Underground in a partnership agreement with Transport for London (TfL). The expanded service sites are scheduled to start next week and be open seven days a week.
Instead of investing in convenience stores or other brick-n-mortar style business models, Asda has some ambitious goals for it's new service model that offers same-day ordering online and collection from an Asda van later that day at a car park along the Underground. Asda says they plan to increase the number of click & collect sites to 1,000 in the next five years, providing the test trials are successful. To read more, click HERE.
