Farmers are using the Alternate Wetting and Dry (AWD) method to reduce water, fuel and electricity, but is increasingly facing challenges throughout the long process.
AT&T believes that IoT can help conserve natural resources and help farmers be more efficient. The tech company is teaming up with farmers to enable and measure water and emissions reductions in rice farming.
The company believes that if IoT-enabled AWD were to expand across the Southern U.S. emissions could be reduced by 325,805 metric tons of carbon dioxide each year.
