Soft Robotics looks to expand robotics further into the food handling industry with expansions to its mGrip product line, including the durability for high-pressure washdown to prevent the spread of foodborne illnesses. The durability of the food-grade grippers reach a IP69K rating. New compact finger modules allow for a tighter grip, down to 20mm for small objects. Additionally, angled tip fingers were designed to handle meat, poultry patties and bun products, which can grasp thin products on flat surfaces without damage.
- The newly released mGrip adapters and accessory interface give integrators greater flexibility, allowing them to rapidly prototype and build custom, production-grade tooling by combining Soft Robotics patented technology with other technologies such as part presence sensors or suction cups.
