Hong Kong Seeks Logistics Upgrades to Compete with China

Hong Kong’s Association of Freight Forwarding and Logistics seeks infrastructure upgrades

Hong Kong’s logistics businesses are using recent developments in mainland China to call for a boost in growth to maintain its competitive edge and the island’s status as a top hub, but  it must expand its logistics facilities according to the chairman of Hong Kong’s Association of Freight Forwarding and Logistics (HAFFA).

Hong Kong is facing increased competition as a logistics hub from cities in mainland China, especially after Shanghai opened its Free Trade Zone (FTZ) pilot project last week and it is expected to overtake Hong Kong as the world’s third largest port by container throughput.
