New Zealand’s Food Safety on Par With US, Says FDA

Michael Taylor, the Deputy Commissioner for Foods, said the agreement is the first step in what will soon be a key part of the agency’s import safety system.

According to a report in Food Safety News, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has signed a “systems recognition” agreement with New Zealand, acknowledging the country’s food safety system is comparable to that in the U.S.
