Industrial Fan Innovation Meets Food Facility Standards

Lexington, KY: Food manufacturers have long recognized the need for improved air circulation in their facilities, but never had an option to bring energy-efficient cooling and destratification to their workforce while also meeting the strict standards of the food processing industry.

Powerfoil X2.0 Wash Down, the newest industrial fan innovation from the Big Ass Fan Company of Lexington, KY, emerged as a result of direct requests from food manufacturers for an air-movement solution.

Released on May 1, 2012 the Powerfoil X2.0 Wash Down is the first of its kind, featuring a stainless steel, wash-down motor to withstand frequent intense cleaning, food-duty epoxy and a completely sealed NitroSeal gearbox with food-grade oil. The overall non-pooling design of Powerfoil X2.0 Wash Down utilizes nonporous, nonabsorbent and corrosion resistant materials throughout, making it a resilient air-movement machine for any processing environment.

Available with or without the Wash Down package, Powerfoil X2.0 introduces a unique new patented airfoil system that combines patented airfoils and winglets with patent-pending AirFence technology to increase overall coverage by 28 percent. Certain tried-and-true features of the Powerfoil X remain, including the time-tested NitroSeal gearbox.

The 8- to 24-ft. diameter Powerfoil X2.0 Wash Down was developed by a team of engineers in the Big Ass Fan Company’s custom-built research and development facility, the only facility of its kind in the world. Powerfoil X2.0 Wash Down is one of several new products coming to the market this year from the Big Ass Fan Company, a privately-held American company that retained all its employees through the recent economic slowdown to emerge stronger than ever.
