San Ramon, CA: The Corporation for Manufacturing Excellence, Manex, is offering food manufacturers, distributors and processors consulting services that include HACCP planning and implementation combined with techniques to achieve operational improvements.
All food manufacturers, regardless of size, are required by law to develop and implement a Hazard Assessment Critical Control Point (HACCP) plan by June 2012. HACCP is a process control system that identifies where hazards might occur in the food production process and puts into place stringent actions to prevent them.
By working with Manex, food manufacturers will become compliant with the new food safety laws and global food safety programs, while at the same time implementing lean manufacturing techniques that might pay for the investment in meeting these new food safety requirements.
"HACCP and Lean are natural allies," says Phil Cullen, a senior consultant with Manex. "Each requires a holistic, process mentality and a strong focus on the interplay of daily activities in the production plant. Both are data driven and result in product quality being built into the production process."
A team of highly experienced, certified, food safety and manufacturing management professionals with post-graduate degrees in management, operations and food science make up the Manex team. Multi-lingual training is available.
