With the 2020 election complete, IFDA urges the Trump Administration and both the House and Senate to work together and provide American Businesses with the financial relief they so desperately need. Elected officials have a duty to protect businesses most hurt by the pandemic, particularly those in the restaurant industry, and the foodservice distributors that support them.

Mark S. Allen, President and CEO of IFDA gave the following statement this week:

Stimulus funding is needed now, after weeks of stalled talks and failed negotiations.  Talks must restart in Congress and the White House to deliver badly needed funding to those who need it.

Fall will turn to winter soon, and the outside seating options that buoyed restaurants and bars during warmer months will become a less-popular option among patrons. Additionally, several states have recently issued new restrictions on indoor dining. Restaurants and supporting businesses, including foodservice distributors, need funding to ensure they can make it through this crisis."
