Blue Plastic Found in Chicken Patties Forces Recall

The On-Cor branded ready-to-eat chicken patties were sent to retailers in six states, including Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, North Carolina, Ohio and Wisconsin. The product was contaminated around the time a trim repair was made on belt material.

The problem was discovered when the firm received notification of three consumer complaints mentioning firm blue plastic in their product.

The manufacturer, Dr. Bob’s of Upland LLC, and the FDA have yet to confirm the recall, but AC Creamery Inc. has posted its own recall of its products citing the FDA’s discovery of Listeria at the production facility.

The recalled “Manila Sky Purple Yumm Ice Cream' were distributed nationwide in retail stores and events such as; Florida Food & Lodging Show, Festival of Philippine Arts & Culture and California State University Pilipino American Student Association (CSUF PASA) Friendship Games.

Vancouver Coastal Health has warned customers not to consume any produce or ready-to-eat foods made in-house at the store, a grocery store specializing in Asian food.

'Potentially contaminated items include all ready-to-eat meat products such as BBQ pork and marinated meats, sushi, produce and baked goods purchased since July 2016. If you have any produce, ready-to-eat or raw food items from Foody World, please dispose of them immediately,” according to the warning from Vancouver Coastal Health officials Friday.

Investigators believe the Tropical Smoothie Café chain was the only U.S. business to import these particular Hepatitis A-tainted frozen strawberries, an outbreak that has had 131 victims across eight states according to the latest reports from the CDC.

The investigation began in early August when the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) identified an outbreak of hepatitis A cases potentially linked to smoothies from Tropical Smoothie Café restaurants in that state.

Blue Bell Recalls Ice Cream Over Listeria

Blue Bell is voluntarily recalling select products because they were made with a chocolate chip cookie dough ingredient supplied by a third party supplier that has the potential for it to contain Listeria monocytogenes.

Recalled products include: half gallon Blue Bell Chocolate Cookie Dough, code date 082618226; half gallon Blue Bell Cookie Two Step, code dates 080418222 and 081818224; and Pint size Blue Bell Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, code dates 081518242 and 082418242.
