McLeod Software released Version 26.2, introducing a broad range of enhancements that help transportation companies improve operational visibility, increase employee productivity, strengthen financial performance, and maximize the value of their technology investments.
Version 26.2 focuses on helping transportation companies improve planning and asset utilization, optimize carrier performance, streamline daily operations, strengthen business intelligence, reduce risk, and leverage artificial intelligence to improve customer communications.
“Transportation companies continue to face pressure to do more with fewer resources while improving service and profitability,” says Tom McLeod, founder and CEO of McLeod Software. “Version 26.2 delivers practical enhancements across our platform that help customers make faster decisions, improve operational efficiency, gain deeper financial insights, and automate routine processes so their teams can focus on higher-value activities.”
Key takeaways:
· Among the most significant enhancements are new planning and dispatch capabilities that improve equipment utilization and reduce empty miles. Users can proactively plan trailer pool movements before assigning drivers or tractors, identify profitable backhaul opportunities more easily, manage tractor posting directly within operations management, and streamline trailer sharing across companies to improve asset utilization.
· Carrier management also receives substantial enhancements with the expanded Carrier Sales Board, providing transportation companies with greater visibility into carrier performance, profitability, and sales activities. Additional improvements include enhanced continuous move management, more accurate LTL quoting, Truckstop.com private load posting, and secure rate confirmation delivery through highway to help reduce fraud while improving carrier communication.
· Enhanced lane profitability analysis gives users deeper insight into order and lane performance, while improved EDI reconciliation, expanded tracking visibility through Descartes MacroPoint, and enhanced brokerage tracking provide more timely operational intelligence. The release also simplifies driver recruiting and application management with centralized tools that improve hiring efficiency.
· McLeod added numerous productivity enhancements, including faster cash application processing, SMS image capture for DocumentPower, streamlined claims management, quicker spot order creation, and improved tender workflow management. These enhancements reduce manual effort while accelerating key business processes.
· Business intelligence capabilities continue to expand with new role-based dashboards, enhanced financial reporting, automatic currency, and unit conversions for cross-border operations, improved billing and accounts receivable reporting, and stronger reporting performance to support growing data needs. These enhancements provide executives and managers with faster access to operational and financial insights that support better business decisions.
· Version 26.2 also strengthens compliance and financial accuracy through improved fuel surcharge calculations based on regional fuel costs, enhanced tariff management, more accurate LTL billing, and improved receivables processing controls. Driver Sidekick receives several updates that improve driver productivity, including real-time load acceptance, enhanced appointment visibility, permissions-based navigation, and updated home screen functionality for signatures and freight photos.
· Artificial intelligence plays an even larger role in Version 26.2 with significant enhancements to MPact.RespondAI. New capabilities allow users to process multiple orders from a single email, automatically capture shipment details from customer communications, prioritize inbox messages and generate AI-assisted customer responses for both email and MobileComm, helping organizations respond more quickly and consistently while reducing manual work.
