According to Splash247.com, Sea-Intelligence has reported that 600,000 container boxes will be going online with real-time tracking “soon.”
The analysts at Sea-Intelligence also said that most carriers will have the necessary hardware to have containers online by 2025.
MSC, CMA CGM and Maersk are all ordering 50,000 trackers for dry containers from Traxens, and Hapag-Lloyd plans to equip its entire fleet of 100,000-plus reefer containers with trackers from Globe Tracker.
Sea-Intelligence has predicted that tracking will soon be a “qualifier to even be competitive.”
