Walmart Grocery Pickup Coming to Calgary

After other successful launches Canada, Wal-Mart is expanding its grocery pickup service to six locations in Calgary.

The switch to drones could cut the time it takes to check the inventory throughout a facility that spans roughly 1.2 million square feet, or the equivalent of 26 football fields, from one month to one day.

After successful launches in Toronto, Ottawa and Edmonton, Canada, Wal-Mart is expanding its grocery pickup service to six locations in Calgary.

The $3 service allows customers to place orders at Walmart.ca up to 21 days in advance. A minimum order of $50.00 before tax is required.

“Families in Calgary are busier than ever and we want to make everyday life easier for them,” said Daryl Porter, vice president of omnichannel and online grocery at Walmart Canada, in a release.
