The decision by Good Eggs, the e-commerce food retailer, to shut down its Los Angeles operations—New Orleans and Brooklyn operations were also axed— has created big problems for food farms that relied on the e-commerce provider, according to Los Angeles Magazine. Good Eggs officials said it was forced to regroup its efforts due to missteps related to supply chain, logistics and e-commerce.

Marcie Jimenez of Jimenez Family Farm is Santa Ynez Valley said the company has employed staff to harvest and pack our produce and baked goods.

Mark Stambler of Pagnol Boulanger, said he counted on the sales of 20 or so loaves of bread he made for the company weekly and, perhaps just as importantly, the city-wide exposure the affiliation afforded him.
