Avantium, a renewable chemicals company, is studying polyester polyethylene-furonate (PEF) bottles. PEF bottles are 100% bio-based, lightweight, fabricated from recyclable polyester, which could potentially replace traditional PET bottles. These bottles could be used to package soft drinks, water or alcoholic beverages. Avantium has signed with Coca-Cola and Danone to further develop PEF bottles. To read more, click HERE.
