Mendix, a Siemens business and the global leader in enterprise low-code, announced the availability of Mendix for Private Cloud and Mendix Dedicated Cloud. These new cloud offerings expand Mendix's portfolio of cloud-native deployment options across all public, private, and hybrid cloud environments. Mendix’s enterprise-grade cloud offerings enable organizations to use low-code application lifecycle management with multi-cloud deployment strategies.

The expansion of Mendix’s cloud offerings brings world-class, low-code services to the world of cutting edge cloud operations.

Multi-cloud services for every business need

Recent analyst findings confirm that enterprises are evolving their cloud-deployment strategies, with a Forrester survey pointing to 86 percent of respondents making multi-cloud or hybrid cloud investments for operational efficiency. One-third of those businesses will use the private cloud as part of their deployment strategy. Nearly a quarter (23 percent) will use on-premises in combination with public cloud deployment.

“Enterprises need to have the entire landscape of deployment options at their disposal, including public, private, and hybrid clouds, and on-premises options,” said Johan den Haan, chief technology officer at Mendix. “We pioneered cloud-native software deployment for low-code with Mendix Public Cloud, and we are committed to increasing the velocity and ease of cloud enablement and ROI with two new multi-cloud deployment options—Mendix for Private Cloud and Mendix Dedicated Cloud.”

Merging complete cloud freedom and portability with low-code capacity

Responding to these market dynamics, Mendix’s expanded multi-cloud options are organized into three product offerings:

Mendix for Private Cloud extends Mendix’s best-in-class, cloud-native architecture to any privately configured location or data center. Running on Kubernetes, Mendix for Private Cloud is tailored to meet an enterprise’s specialized security, compliance, or data integration needs on its cloud or clouds of choice. Leveraging the Mendix platform’s continuous online experience, developers can collaborate, test, monitor, and deploy applications to Mendix for Private Cloud or any additional cloud targets.

Mendix Dedicated Cloud is the low-code provider’s premier cloud offering and ideally suited for enterprises with highly specialized security and operational needs at a massive scale. It combines the full portability, push-button migration, and effortless deployment of all Mendix cloud offerings in an exclusive environment with full engineering support from Mendix for any management or specialized integration needs.

Mendix Public Cloud is Mendix’s existing cloud-native offering, giving enterprises the speed and ease of one-click cloud deployment on infrastructure managed and hosted by Mendix or on SAP or IBM public clouds.

Bringing low-code benefits to the cloud-native, Kubernetes world

Mendix’s cloud offerings support any cloud cluster operating on Kubernetes. The extension of Mendix’s deployment options adds complete cloud freedom and portability with the economic value of low-code software development tools. As a recognized technology leader, the Mendix platform has won analyst accolades for its cross-functional collaboration, multi-experience solutions, and accelerated speed to market for transformative competitive advantage.

“People tasked with cloud operations are focused on how systems and software run, not on how they are built.” added den Haan. “However, the seamless merger of low-code application development’s speed, collaborative strength, and security with the industry’s broadest number of cloud deployment options will free up significant time and bandwidth for developers to work on innovations and business-critical needs. Additionally, applications built by citizen developers will be cloud-native by default, and ready to operate on Kubernetes software stacks straight out of the box.”

Low-code platform makes enterprise solutions cloud portable by default

The freedom to deploy Mendix solutions on any cloud platform enables enterprises to utilize low-code development tooling while meeting their evolving deployment requirements. “Recently, we have had a specific application which needed to scale in all layers of the stack within minutes and by self-service,” said Leon Backbier, Manager IT at Endemol Shine Group. “We tested and migrated our solution using Kubernetes, first on Azure, then Google Cloud Platform, and finally went into production on AWS. With the high portability that Mendix offers, we can deploy, run, and move apps as we need to, as our business needs evolve.”
