New Brunswick and Lawrenceville, NJ: The Center for Supply Chain Management at Rutgers Business School and the Voluntary Interindustry Commerce Solutions (VICS) Association will hold a joint Logistics Summit on September 27-28, 2011 in New Brunswick, NJ. The Summit is open to all interested parties and will feature interactive sessions led by practitioners, academics and other industry experts.
Joe Andraski, president and CEO of VICS, will start off the first day of the summit with a talk titled "VICS and The Perfect Storm," and Professor Dale Rogers of Rutgers will continue with "The Future of Global Logistics."
Industry leaders from Schneider National, CSX Intermodal, Kimberly Clark, Macy's National Retail Systems and Maersk will then present a series of discussions on specific issues in transportation, including case studies.
Day two of the Summit will feature workshops on transportation issues by Dan Mullaly of FedEx and EPC-enabled RFID by Patrick Javick of GS1 US, and then the keynote address "CSCMP and the Transportation Challenge" by Rick Blasgen, President & CEO of the Council for Supply Chain Management Professionals.
"The Rutgers community is looking forward to hosting such a renowned group of speakers with the support of VICS and its members on an increasingly important topic. By combining the expertise and experience of practitioners, academics, trade group executives and others in the field, we can better address the opportunities to drive inefficiencies out of the supply chain," says Rogers of Rutgers.
"We are honored to be working with the Supply Chain Management team at Rutgers on the Logistics Summit. VICS is committed to sharing the latest knowledge and most innovative solutions with its members and forums like the Summit that attract the best and brightest minds in the industry are a great way to accomplish that goal," says Andraski of VICS.
The Logistics Summit is sponsored by CSX Intermodal, FedEx, Schneider National and VICS.
