Long Island City, NY: White Coffee Corp. received a Safe Quality Food (SQF) Code 2000 Certification from the National Sanitation Foundation International (NSFI) last month for its roasted, whole bean, ground and flavored coffee products.
White Coffee earned the designation for achieving the standards for Level 3 or Comprehensive Food Safety and Quality Management System.
The Safe Quality Food Institute (SQFI), located in Arlington, VA, administers the SQF program in the United States and around the world. SQFI establishes standards for safe food production and monitors processing, preparation and handling procedures. Quality and consistency is also measured in a unique aspect of SQF certification.
“Food safety and service is paramount to our customers and the consumer,” says Jonathan White, executive vice president of White Coffee. “SQF certification gives our company and its products a ‘Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval’ and we are very proud of that fact.”
SQF certification requires that a plant be audited by NSFI to insure the products have been produced, processed, prepared and handled according to their internationally recognized standards.
NSFI performed the quality safe food audit. NSFI is a not-for-profit, non-governmental organization that provides standards development, product certification, auditing, education and risk management for public health and safety. The SQF program is a comprehensive food safety and quality management system for food manufacturers, wholesalers and distributors.
