Jenny Perlitch, CEO of Perlitch Transport, was named one of Food Logistics' and Supply & Demand Chain Executive's 2024 Women in Supply Chain award winners in the Trailblazers category.
With nearly two decades of experience in transport and logistics, Perlitch continually demonstrates resilience, determination, and an unwavering work ethic within the industry.
Her story begins with humble beginnings. Born in Ukraine, she moved to Germany as a young girl with only a couple of hundred dollars before immigrating to Canada at the age of 18. There, she pursued studies in computer science and explored real estate and investments. After a summer job in logistics, she bought a truck and started her own transport company. Today, under Perlitch's guidance, Perlitch Transport developed a proprietary transportation management system (TMS) tailored to the specific needs of Perlitch Transport and their clients. And, over the next 12 months, she aims to propel Perlitch Transport to even greater heights through ambitious expansion initiatives.
Perlitch sat down with Sarah Barnes-Humphrey, founder of Let's Talk Supply Chain podcast and Blended Pledge program, both presenting sponsors of the Women in Supply Chain award and the Women in Supply Chain Forum, to discuss the lessons learned as a woman and immigrant in supply chain, the importance of supporting diversity within the transportation industry, and why a computer science background is so compatible with a career in supply chain.
