Old Dominion Opens New Service Center in Madison, Wisconsin

Madison, WI: Old Dominion Freight Line Inc. opened its newest service center in Madison, WI, after experiencing sustained growth in the region. Old Dominion plans to hire 12 employees to support the new facility.

The move, part of a $100-120 million investment that Old Dominion is committing to real estate purchases and expansion projects in 2011, will bolster the company's existing presence in Wisconsin, where the trucking industry hauls nearly 90 percent of the state's manufactured tonnage every year. In addition, the new location will enhance Old Dominion's four existing service centers in Wisconsin and national network of 214 service centers.

"Over the past few years, we have seen considerable growth in the Madison market thanks to the city's proximity to key manufacturing areas in the Midwest," says Michael Quillman, service center manager at the Old Dominion Madison Service Center. "The addition of a new service center allows us to now provide direct service to customers in the city and enhance service offerings to our network of customers in the Midwest."

Old Dominion purchased and renovated the 24-door facility, located at 4380 Duraform Lane in Windsor. The facility will open with 16 employees to provide service to more than 30 cities, which includes more than a 50 mile radius surrounding Madison.
