Glenwood Beer Distributors Selects HighJump Route Accounting System

Distributor updates DSD technology to increase efficiency through real-time data transmission.

Erie, PA: Glenwood Beer Distributors Inc. has selected the HighJump RouteCenter route accounting system (RAS) to manage its direct store delivery (DSD) operations. Glenwood Beer, based here, a beer distributor and HighJump customer since 1985, markets the products of a number of major suppliers including MillerCoors, High Falls and Pabst.

Glenwood Beer began the search for a replacement for its legacy RAS as its operations increased in size and complexity. It needed a software solution that could provide greater flexibility with pricing and discounting and could manage changing regulations in the beer industry. Based on the recommendation of industry organizations and its longstanding relationship with HighJump Software, Glenwood Beer selected HighJump RouteCenter to be the operational hub of its DSD business.

HighJump RouteCenter will manage Glenwood Beer’s routes, hand-held computing devices, customers and driver schedules. This powerful RAS will also provide sales order management, inventory management, route planning, delivery verification, driver reconciliation and financial accounting for the efficient execution of front and back office operations.

Glenwood Beer also plans to implement HighJump Load Management, a flexible, graphically-rich load planning system to increase the speed and accuracy of picking and loading of delivery vehicles.

“Though we did our due diligence when evaluating software options, HighJump Software quickly emerged as the superior choice due to our long relationship and its strong reputation in the direct store delivery industry,” says Michael Green, vice president, Glenwood Beer. “We’re excited about taking our operations to the next level with HighJump RouteCenter.”

“Many DSD companies are finding it difficult to drive their businesses forward while running dated route accounting and mobile technology. HighJump is committed to developing modern route accounting systems and maintaining strong supplier relationships,” says Russell Fleischer, CEO, HighJump Software, Eden Prairie, MN. “HighJump RouteCenter provides the technology required for beverage distributors to cut costs while increasing sales volume.”
