The European Commission has granted approval for laser labeling on fruit after three years of debate and tough negotiations. As reported in FreshFruitPortal.com, this decision will allow companies to brand names into fruit through the use of compounds such as iron oxides and hydroxides, while saving money by removing the use of paper labels.
