Itella Logistics Chooses Manhattan Associates to Support Regional Logistics Services Operation

Helsinki, Finland and Atlanta: Global supply chain optimization provider Manhattan Associates announced that Itella Logistics, a leading operator of logistics services in Northern Europe and Russia and part of Finland-based Itella Group, has selected multiple components from the Manhattan SCOPE(R) supply chain solution portfolio as part of an extensive supply chain enhancement program.

"We selected Manhattan because of the considerable experience of its people and their expertise across a wide range of industry sectors, the strength and flexibility of its solutions, the consistent investment it is making in its products year after year, and the quality of its global support network," said Petri Marttila, head of Itella's Contract Logistics business. "Moreover, we are confident that the Manhattan supply chain platform will enable us to meet our operational efficiency improvement objectives at the same time as ensuring we are able to help our clients meet their supply chain objectives over the coming years."

Itella Logistics provides logistics services solutions that support and promote the business of its customer companies. Its service network consists of 40+ warehouses across 8 European countries: Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Russia and Sweden while global services are offered through a partner network. The Manhattan solutions to be deployed include Warehouse Management, Supply Chain Intelligence, Labour Management and Slotting Optimisation.

"Itella Logistics manages a highly complex, distribution network on behalf of its many hundreds of clients operating across a range of industry verticals and which have a wide array of storage and transportation requirements," commented Marttila. "To support this complexity, to improve operational efficiency within our warehouses and to optimize the supply chain processes we manage on behalf of our clients, we decided to replace our legacy supply chain systems with a common supply chain solutions platform. The selection of the Manhattan systems platform was a straightforward decision, given the growing reputation of Manhattan's powerful solutions portfolio to provide effective support -- not just for logistics services providers -- but for their client companies operating in many different industries."
