Bellingham Cold Storage (BCS) President and CEO Doug Thomas announced that the company will increase its Whatcom County, Wash. freezer space this winter by 6,250 pallet positions at its Orchard Drive campus.
To further service fruit customers in the Northwest, BCS is installing over 7.5 million pounds of additional IQF berry storage space, and have embarked upon a plan to add up to 13,500 more pallet positions, for a total of 21,000 new pallet positions in Bellingham, Wash. BCS currently has over 14.6 million cubic feet of frozen, dry and chilled warehouses located on two separate campuses. The waterfront facilities accommodate several seafood processing customer/tenants and the cold storage requirements while the Orchard Drive complex supports two on-site processing customer/tenants as well as substantially all of the fruit freezing and storage customers.
