Google Express is ramping up its online delivery service, adding Connecticut and 12 other states to its footprint.
For a $95 annual membership or a $4.99 per order pay-as-you-go option, consumers can now order from their computers or mobile devices, and get either overnight delivery or two-day shipping from some of their favorite national retailers. Retailers participating in Google Express include Kohl’s, Whole Foods, PetSmart and Costco.
“Our mission is to help merchants connect with buyers,” said Brian Elliott, general manager of Google Express.
Google Express provides the staff of stores “tools so that their associates can do the in-store shopping,” Elliot said. Then, a variety of third-party providers does the actual delivery work, he said.
