Parts Town has launched Red Lightning Group — a new and separate division to focus solely on innovation to support the foodservice industry and beyond.

Red Lightning expands on Parts Town’s history of breakthrough innovations and has a mission to “boldly strike at lightning speed to deliver game-changing innovation and technology.” By leveraging Parts Town’s unique company culture, Red Lightning Group will focus on technology and serve as an innovation incubator. It will provide a framework and support to help innovators realize their ideas.

Steve Snower, CEO of Parts Town, comments, “The intent of Red Lightning Group is to accelerate the pace of innovation. As our organization has become larger over the years, innovating has become more complex. Having a separate division and team drive game-changing innovation will allow us to move faster than ever before.”

Most recently, the company launched Parts In Town, a marketplace-based technology that allows local distributors and service companies to add OEM parts to partstown.com to grow their sales and build their local customer base. Parts In Town allows customers to access parts locally in one-hour to further improve equipment performance and uptime.

“Parts In Town is the first of many innovations that will operate under Red Lightning Group,” said Emanuela Delgado, senior vice president and general manager of Red Lightning Group. “We already have more than 50 Parts In Town local sellers, and transactions are accelerating as we fine tune the technology.”

Parts Town is known for technology advancements to support the foodservice industry, including creating the parts industry’s first e-commerce site in 2007, the industry’s first app in 2010 and the first 360-degree image technology (“PartSPIN”) in 2013. These milestones have been followed by a steady stream of innovative developments over the past several years.

The name Red Lightning comes from technology Parts Town uses to involve all employees in the innovation process. All team members can add ideas, comment and collaborate on ideas. Through the dedicated division, Parts Town will expand this concept to build a community of innovators and bring ideas to market that will help improve customer interaction, discover the “next big thing” and create new business opportunities.
