The MIT Center for Transportation & Logistics (MIT CTL) and Mecalux launched the executive course “Machine Learning & AI-Based Augmentation of Supply Chain Decision-Making,” developed for Mecalux customers and partners.
The two-day program provides senior supply chain leaders with practical insights into applying artificial intelligence to warehousing and supply chain decision-making.
“Artificial intelligence is rapidly becoming a strategic capability for supply chain organizations, but success depends on understanding where it creates genuine value,” says Matthias Winkenbach, director of research at the MIT Center for Transportation & Logistics. “Our goal is to provide executives with decision-making tools that help them evaluate opportunities critically and turn promising ideas into well-defined implementation projects.”
Key takeaways:
· The course focuses on helping organizations move beyond the AI hype cycle and identify high-value applications that deliver business results.
· The executive sessions will be led together with researchers from the MIT Intelligent Logistics Systems Lab.
· The curriculum blends lectures, real-world case studies, and hands-on workshops to show how AI can improve planning and operational decision-making across logistics and warehousing.
· Participants will develop an Opportunity Brief to define a high-value AI use case and a Pilot Charter outlining the next steps for implementation within their companies.
· The first edition will bring together a select group of senior executives from businesses across retail, manufacturing, consumer goods, industrial equipment, packaging, healthcare, logistics, and distribution.
