Blue Yonder announced new Cognitive Solutions for Space Planning and Production Planning and Scheduling.
The company also announced new AI agents, user experience enhancements and updates to its planning, warehouse and commerce solutions, designed to help customers improve decision-making, automate complex processes, enhance workforce productivity, and respond to disruption with greater speed and precision.
“Every solution and update we are announcing today comes back to the same question. Can the person using this system get to a better decision faster?” says Gurdip Singh, chief product officer, Blue Yonder. “Auditability, scenario modeling, agents that help users act instead of just reporting. These are not just new features. They close the gap between knowing something and doing something about it.”
Key takeaways:
· Cognitive Solutions for Space Planning and Category Management are now available on the Blue Yonder Platform and AI data cloud, with a single set of data aligning planograms across assortment and allocation, replenishment, warehousing, and transportation. A change on the store shelf will now flow directly into forecasts, ordering and load builds.
· With this new capability, built on the Blue Yonder Network, suppliers, store teams and category managers can co-create planograms in real time, replacing email-based collaboration with one planogram, one version of the truth, shared, shaped, and owned by everyone who needs it.
· On the store floor, associates now have a mobile experience with live planograms and step-by-step guidance, with overnight changes and compliance issues flagged directly on the floor, giving AI-assisted insights into inventory changes, ordering details and forecast revisions.
· New Space Planning capabilities allow retailers to move from cluster-level planogramming and ranging decisions to store-specific decisions grounded in category strategy, commercial priorities, space constraints, and the operational reality of each location, without adding resources or time to achieve the outcome.
· The new Cognitive Solutions for Production Planning and Scheduling, designed to close the gap between strategic planning and the factory floor. The solutions are designed from the ground up to connect demand-driven supply planning bi-directionally to the factory floor. Planners can generate feasible plans that account for real material and capacity availability and real resource constraints, while minimizing changeovers and maximizing throughput, all done concurrently. Customers gain a visual command of what is happening across production resources, with the ability to model, adjust and optimize before changes filter into expensive mistakes on the floor.
· AI enhancements to increase operational resiliency and reliabilty include predictive incident management; automated root-cause analysis; AI-generated answers in search; and AI-powered digital assistant.
· New agents, enhanced skills for existing Agents and UX enhancements to enable agent-augmented workforces include: new skills for the Inventory Ops Agent, an agentic ordering workflow that accelerates supplier order approvals while giving planners clear, explainable insight into how each decision was made; a new Workforce Management Knowledge Agent, which serves as a Blue Yonder expert available to answer questions on the customer’s configured solution and guide solution operators and support personnel; mobile app for warehouse managers, a new mobile application for Android and iOS with improved configuration flexibility, scalability and security; and Blue Yonder UX enhancements, a new, unified user experience across desktop and mobile devices with custom avatars that carry individual preferences into every AI interaction; a new command bar and citations for at-a-glance supply chain details with full transparency into data sources; and comprehensive localization so global operators can engage with full AI functionality in their native language.
· New planning capabilities to improve user trust in AI reasoning and strengthen auditability and trust include demand and supply insight-driven planning; manufacturing planning and execution audit and traceability; intelligent tagging; and Blue Yonder network supplier ordering.
· New warehouse capabilities for smarter fulfillment and lower automation costs include advanced slotting; automation extensions; and return-to-vendor dispositioning.
· New capabilities for order management and returns include commits service; fulfillment sourcing simulator; and online returns.
