Capacity for vans and flatbeds loosened 2.6 percent in early April, according to DAT Solutions. For the week of April 5 to 11, national average rates dipped another 1 cent for vans and rose 1cent for flatbeds last week, while reefer rates were unchanged, as a national average, according to DAT Solutions.
Spot market loads declined 6.4 percent for the week while sport market activity rose 2.6 percent. Van load-to-truck declined 12 percent. Spot van rates declined. 0.5 percent.
Flatbed load-to-truck increased 6.3 percent while spot flatbed rates rose 0.5 percent.
Reefer load-to-truck dropped by 20 percent while spot reefer rates remained flat.
Fuel prices dipped 1.4 percent.
