Air New Zealand has decided to stop flying profitable cargo of shark fins into Hong Kong after local media released the sensitive story to the public. This has prompted action among other airlines such as Cathay Pacific, Hong Kong’s main carrier which released a statement saying, “due to the vulnerable nature of sharks, their rapidly declining population, and the impacts of overfishing for their parts and product, our carriage of these is inconsistent with our commitment to sustainable development.” To read more, click HERE.
