Converting Fleets To Natural Gas Does Payoff

Going from diesel fuel to lower-cost, cleaner-burning liquefied natural gas (LNG) benefits everyone in the supply chain

Owens Corning Corp., whose annual transportation fuel bill hits about $100 million, saved over $1.1 million last year because of a switch from diesel to natural gas in their transportation fleet ... but they didn't spend a penny to convert anything.

One of its truckers, Chicago-based Dillon Transport Inc., did the conversion, and even though the routes have stayed the same, as have the rates, Owens Corning's savings come from lower energy surcharges imposed by Dillon. To read more, click HERE.
