Hapag-Lloyd CEO Rolf Habben Jansen addressed the rumors that they were merging with CMA CGMA as false.

Prior to the dismissal, it was rumored that CMA CGM was gearing up to takeover Hapag-Lloyd. If they were to combine, the two lines would carry 19 percent of market share, edging just above Maersk Line's 18 percent share, Supply Chain Dive reports.

In a recent series of merges among ocean carriers, shippers have noted a deterioration in satisfaction levels in service, Supply Chain Dive reports. Customers were dissatisfied with reliability and transit times as ports faced delays while adjusting operations to accommodate for new alliances.
