RedStone Logistics Acquires Headhaul.com

RedStone Logistics, an Overland Park-based third-party logistics company specializing in logistics management services, has acquired privately held Headhaul.com. Headhaul provides transactional shipment management services to hundreds of clients with multi-modal, dry van/truckload, refrigerated, flatbed, less-than-truckload (LTL) and over-dimensional shipment requirements.

During the next 30 days, Headhaul employees will integrate into the RedStone Logistics team and are expected to remain as part of the integrated team going forward. The teams' integration will ensure the company's clients are saving money and improving internal processes—an essential benefit in this challenging economic climate.

The RedStone Logistics team believes providing industry-leading technology and continuous improvement for year-over-year performance is crucial to building long-term successful partnerships with clients and the carrier base. As a full-service logistics provider, the company creates value throughout the entire shipment process—any size shipment, from one pallet to full truckloads, any weight, from 150 to 40,000 pounds, and flexible service times including airfreight same day and expedited next day service.

As part of the acquisition, RedStone Logistics is eager to leverage Headhaul's impressive Concierge Service, a direct one-to-one monitoring of client shipments throughout the process. They prequalify each load, track each shipment continuously, and take personal accountability of each load from the time it's tendered to delivery.

"The Concierge Services is just one of Headhaul's many impressive qualities," Jim Ritchie, RedStone Logistics' president and chief executive officer, said. "From the quality of their people to the enthusiastic level of satisfaction from their top clients, we've been continually impressed with Headhaul's many assets and strengths."

"RedStone Logistics has the experience and the relationships to handle the details, allowing clients to leverage significant purchasing power and rate negotiation expertise," Josh Wheeler, chief executive officer of Headhaul, said. "They have an experienced management team who really understands this business and has built large successful logistics companies in the past. This transaction will allow the Headhaul team to rapidly grow into one of the premier logistics companies in North America."

Royal Blue Capital, a Leawood, KS-based investment bank focused on transportation and logistics, advised RedStone Logistics throughout the transaction. The financial terms of the transaction are undisclosed.
