Guidelines for submitting industry expert columns:
- Columns ONLY publish online as they align with a topic on Food Logistics' editorial calendar. Columns that do not pertain to a topic on the editorial calendar will not be considered. Please allow 2-3 weeks for scheduling.
- All columns must be coordinated with editor-in-chief Marina Mayer at [email protected] in advance of receipt to ensure placement in our publishing calendar. Those columns not coordinated ahead of time may not be considered.
- Deadline: Deadlines are set for the 15th of every month prior to the issue month. For example, if you are submitting a column based on a topic in the September issue, then the deadline is Aug. 15. Columns are published online on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please allow 2-3 weeks for scheduling. Columns must be coordinated with editor-in-chief Marina Mayer at [email protected] in advance.
- Columns that do not pertain to the food logistics space or to the respective markets covered by Food Logistics will not be considered.
- Columns written by companies not in the food logistics/cold chain space will not be considered.
- Columns with an author byline from a marketing/PR agency will not publish.
- Author must be a subject matter expert from the industry and/or company/manufacturer.
- Q&A format will not be accepted, as Food Logistics does not publish Q&As not conducted by editorial staff
- Please allow 2-3 weeks for a response and/or a publish date; we receive over 20 columns and pitches a day.
- Some columns may be considered for Supply & Demand Chain Executive depending on the topic as it pertains to the different audiences.
- Suggested word count = 800-1,200 words.
- Must include author’s full name and title, as well as company name. (Author emails will not publish. Company websites will publish through the company profile page). A high-resolution jpg image of the author’s headshot is welcome, but not required. Can also include (1) high-res jpg image pertaining to content, i.e., product, fleet, plant, etc. Image must be original. Stock photos and AI-generated images will be not be accepted.
- Limit one column per company per month.
- Copy must be non-promotional, non-commercial. Any content promoting a company’s products, services or blogs will be omitted. This includes hyperlinks back to company websites.
- Authors are however encouraged to include hyperlinks supporting mentions of studies, polls, market research reports and more.
- Company websites will be listed in the company page tagged to the column.
- Copy cannot include quotes/interviews with other sources outside of the author. Quotes will be omitted prior to publication.
- Editorial staff reserves the right to edit and fact check according to AP style and brand guidelines. Any statistics, facts and/or research must be supported with adequate sourcing.
- You are encouraged to share the link on your website and through your social media channels. Brand logos are available upon request. Posting the article on your website or in your e-newsletters without linking back to the article on our site is strictly prohibited and will be subject to copyright infringement.
- Submitting AI-generated content and images is prohibited. Editors will not knowingly publish any contributed content or images created by artificial intelligence software.
