With more and more electric vehicles on the streets these days, you knew it was only a matter of time before we started hearing stories like the one Kaveh Kamooneh has to tell, a real estate broker from Decatur, Ga., who was recently arrested for charging from an outlet at the middle school as he watched his 11-year-old son play tennis.
Kamooneh told an Atlanta NBC affiliate in an interview that about 20 minutes after he plugged his Nissan Leaf into one of the school’s outside electrical sockets, a police officer approached his vehicle and told Kamooneh he was violating the law. He was later arrested and spent 15 hours in custody. He still faces criminal charges, charges that Kamooneh says he is fighting.
The arrest does raise questions to think about as more and more alternative-fuel vehicles take to the road. To read more, click HERE.
