Publix Super Markets Recalls Asian Mix Over Undeclared Peanuts

The recalled product was distributed to all Publix retail locations in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Tennessee, and North Carolina.

Publix Super Markets is recalling Publix Asian Mix because it contains peanuts, one of the major food allergens, that is not declared on the label, according to Food Poisoning Bulletin. Anyone with an allergy to peanuts could have a life-threatening reaction if they eat this product. No cases of illness have been reported to date.

The recalled product is Publix Asian Mix. It was distributed to all Publix retail locations in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Tennessee, and North Carolina. It is sold in 14 ounce clamshell containers in the Publix produce department. The UPC number is 41415-20286. The recalled products have sell-by dates between 01/03/15 and 02/03/15. Publix discovered the problem during in-house testing from the ingredient supplier.

If you purchased this product and are allergic to peanuts, do not eat it. Discard it or return to the place of purchase for a refund. If you are not allergic to peanuts the product is safe to eat.
