Two pet-treat products and a brand of frozen, raw dog food have been recalled in the past week, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), reported The Seattle Times.
Good ‘n’ Fun Beefhide Chicken Sticks, sold in Dollar General Stores and Dollar Tree Stores nationwide, was recalled because it could be contaminated with salmonella, the USDA says.
Dingo Chip Twists Chicken in the Middle dog treats, distributed in Washington and 11 other states, was recalled because it could be contaminated with amantadine, an antiviral human drug that’s not approved for use in animal food.
And OC Raw Dog of Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., recalled 640 pounds of Chicken, Fish & Produce Raw Frozen Canine Formulation that was sold to customers through independent pet-specialty retailers in Colorado, Vermont and Pennsylvania, because it could be contaminated with salmonella, the agency says. The food was packaged into 6.5-pound Doggie Dozen Patties, 4-pound Doggie Sliders and 3-pound Meaty Rox with the lot number 1819, and use by date of 05/05/16. The codes are on the bottom left corner of the back of the package.
