APL, Mitsui OSK Lines And NYK To Begin Asia-South America Service

Shipping lines APL, Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) and Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) have launched a new joint service between Asia and South America. The AMC (Asia Mexico Colombia Express) Service will begin May 22 linking Asia, Mexico, and the west coast of South America.

The new service will use eight 6,000 TEU containerships and will feature a particularly short lead time between Hong Kong and Manzanillo, Mexico — only 17 days, the fastest on the market.

Frequency will be 56 days roundtrip weekly.

Ports and rotation will be: Yokoha, Tuesday to Tuesday; Pusan Friday to Friday; Shanghai Saturday to Sunday; Chiwan Tuesday to Wednesday; Hong Kong Wednesday to Thursday; Kaohsiung Friday to Friday; Manzanillo Sunday to Monday; Lazaro Cardenas Tuesday to Tuesday; and Buenaventura Saturday to Monday.
