In Canada, Uncle T Food Ltd. is recalling Ben Tre brand Coconut Candy from the marketplace because it contains peanuts, one of the major food allergens that is not listed on the label, according to Food Poisoning Bulletin. Anyone with an allergy to peanuts could have a serious or life-threatening reaction if they consume this product. No illnesses or adverse reactions have been reported to date.

The recalled product is Ben Tre Coconut Candy in 400-gram packages. All codes where peanuts are not declared on the label are recalled. The UPC number is 8 934866 700014. The candy was sold in Alberta and British Columbia at the retail level.

Consumers allergic to peanuts are advised not to eat it. Consumers can return it to the place of purchase or discard.
