MTS Environmental Solutions, a provider of innovative and environmentally friendly products for the food and beverage industries, recently announced a new line of green, safe and sustainable synthetic mineral acids designed to replace many of the dangerous acids already used as winery cleaning solutions in the industry today.
"Many of our customers just cannot believe you can actually put your hand in these chemicals without being burned," MTS Managing Director Jeff White said. "Safe mineral acids are counter intuitive to everything we learned in Chemistry class. Once they saw us putting our hands in the test beaker without any harm, their eyes popped, and the questions started rapid fire. So many folk are trying to find a way to deploy sustainable products in food and beverage. More than ever, people want to know what is going into their mouth."
MTS plans to showcase these new products at the Unified Wine & Grape Symposium in Sacramento, California, in late January, the largest wine and grape trade show in North America.
"Sustainability is more than just a cute buzzword, it is the mantra of the new millennium," said White. "Now there is a safe alternative to replace traditional caustic, hydrochloric and sulfuric acids traditionally used in cleaning, sanitation, and water treatment."
