Senate Discusses If Smithfield Foods Merger Challenges Government Committee

The U.S. Senate will meet today to discuss if the purchase of Smithfield Foods by Shuanghui International has become a challenge to the Committee on Foreign Investment in the U.S. (CFIUS). According to an article in Forbes, this government body “is tasked with the evaluation of foreign takeovers to protect national security.” To read more, click HERE.
